New Participation in School Science Fair

The GWR Project's water conservation model was very well received by students.

The GreyWater Reuse Project (GWR) was invited by the Liceo Maipú de las Artes y la Tecnología to participate in the school's Applied Sciences Fair, where researchers demonstrated how domestic gray water can be treated for reuse to help mitigate the water crisis.

Scale models of sand filters and an electrochemical reactor were set up at the GWR stand to show attendees how these technologies work in real time to remove most contaminants from gray water. This leaves the water suitable for uses other than human consumption, such as cleaning and irrigation.

Throughout the day, students asked many questions, primarily about water purification processes but also about how to become scientists and conduct research on various topics.

The fair featured numerous projects on diverse topics, including healthcare, efficient water use, construction techniques, and the applications of physics in everyday life.
