A GWR project scientist has published in an international journal.

A significant milestone in disseminating the GWR Project was recently reached with the publication of an article by Dr. Ricardo Abejón in Desalination, an international journal of desalination and water purification science and technology. In the article, the scientist presents findings derived from research carried out as part of the initiative.

In a world facing water scarcity, it is crucial to have technologies that maximize water usage. Among the studied options, membrane distillation, in its various forms, shows great promise.

In the context of water stress for the production of drinking water and the treatment of domestic graywater and wastewater from mining and other industrial activities in Chile, special attention was paid to the potential of membrane distillation for water recovery and reuse.
