We would like to invite you to participate in a project to improve water security.

Several leading water management organizations are developing an initiative to educate people about the water crisis and encourage them to help find solutions.

On Thursday, August 8, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., the event "Citizen Consultation on the Draft Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change in Water Resources: Moving Toward Water Security" will take place and be broadcast via the General Water Directorate's (DGA) YouTube channel.

The event will provide information on the scope of the initiative, emphasizing the importance of encouraging active citizen participation. The mechanisms for participating in the consultation will be explained in detail, along with background information on the development of the plan and its main strategic guidelines.

The call for participation is open. To register, sign up using this link. The draft proposal can be accessed here.

A panel discussion featuring individuals involved in developing the proposal will be held. Those individuals include Andrea Osses, head of the DGA's Studies and Planning Division; Irene Bernaus, FAO coordinator for the Plan; Sebastián Vicuña, director of the UC Global Change Center; Maritza Jadrijevic, head of the Climate Change Adaptation Department at the Ministry of the Environment; and Evelyne Medel, head of the Climate Change and Circular Economy Department at the General Directorate of Public Works (MOP).

The General Water Directorate (DGA) of the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is organizing the activity together with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
